Self Assessment Tax Returns in Selby & York
A tax return should take you an afternoon of gathering paperwork, not a fortnight of worry. We prepare and file self assessment returns for sole traders, landlords, company directors and anyone with income HMRC wants to hear about.
What's included
- Sole trader and partnership accounts and returns
- Landlord and rental property income, including finance cost relief
- Company directors, dividends and salary planning
- Capital gains on property and investment disposals
- Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) refunds for subcontractors
- HMRC enquiry support and late filing clean-ups
Who needs to file
You'll usually need a return if you're self-employed, a partner in a partnership, a landlord, a company director with untaxed income, or if you have capital gains, higher-rate pension relief or child benefit to claw back. If you're unsure, ask us — it takes one conversation to find out.
The deadlines that matter
Paper returns are due by 31 October after the tax year ends; online returns and the balancing payment are due by 31 January, with a second payment on account by 31 July. We work to our own internal deadlines well ahead of these so you know your tax bill months before you have to pay it.
CIS subcontractors
If you work in construction and have twenty per cent deducted at source, you're often due a refund. We prepare CIS returns for tradespeople across Selby and York and chase the repayment through with HMRC.
We work with businesses across the region — see our pages for accountants in Selby and accountants in York.
